Terms of Service

Last updated: 13 May 2026 · Effective on first use.

1. Who we are

The urlcap service ("urlcap", the "Service") is operated by DATO CAPITAL LTD, a company registered in the United Kingdom under company number 09987396, with its registered office at 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, England, WC2H 9JQ ("we", "us", "our"). You can reach us at info@urlcap.com.

2. Acceptance of these Terms

By creating an urlcap account, generating an API key, or making any request against the urlcap API, you confirm that you have read, understood and agreed to be bound by these Terms, our Privacy Policy and our Refund Policy. If you are using urlcap on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to bind that organisation to these Terms.

3. The Service

urlcap is an HTTP-tooling API for developers — sending captured HTTP requests, running structured extraction jobs against web pages, IP/CIDR membership queries, TOTP generation, named datasets, scheduled tasks, and known-bot detection. The full reference is at urlcap.com/docs. We may add, change, deprecate or remove features at any time; deprecations affecting paid plans will be announced via the changelog with reasonable notice.

4. Accounts and API keys

You must register a verified email address to use the Service. You are responsible for keeping your password and API keys confidential and for any activity that occurs under them. Notify us at info@urlcap.com immediately if you suspect unauthorised use; we can revoke compromised keys on request. We may suspend or terminate accounts for breach of these Terms, suspected fraud, non-payment, or where we are legally required to do so.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to:

We may inspect aggregate usage patterns and suspend traffic that we reasonably believe violates this section.

6. Subscriptions, fees and billing

Free-tier limits and paid-plan prices are published on /docs#pricing and in your billing area. Paid plans are billed monthly in advance through Stripe Payments. Fees are exclusive of any applicable taxes; where we are required to charge VAT or similar, it will be added at checkout. By providing a payment method you authorise us to charge it for the recurring fee and any reasonable supplementary usage that exceeds your plan limits. You can manage your subscription and update your payment method at /account/billing.

7. Cancellation and refunds

You can cancel a paid subscription at any time via your account or by emailing info@urlcap.com. Refund eligibility is described in our Refund Policy.

8. Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, documentation, design, brand, and the "urlcap" name and logo, is and remains our property or that of our licensors. "urlcap" is a United Kingdom registered trademark (UK00004005929). We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the Service for your own internal or commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms. Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of any of our intellectual property to you.

Content you submit to the Service (request bodies, headers, dataset items, extract job models, etc.) remains yours; you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive licence to process that content solely to provide the Service.

9. Third-party services

The Service depends on third parties including Stripe Payments Europe Ltd. (payments), Google / GitHub / Microsoft (optional social sign-in), and our transactional email provider. Those services have their own terms; we are not responsible for their availability or actions.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any data, including third-party content reached through the Service, will be accurate or current.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability arising out of or related to the Service in any 12-month period is limited to the greater of (a) the fees you paid us during the three months immediately before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) GBP 100. In no event shall we be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost data, or business interruption, even if advised of the possibility.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or fraudulent misrepresentation.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless DATO CAPITAL LTD, its directors, employees and contractors against any claim, loss, liability, cost or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your breach of these Terms or your unlawful use of the Service.

13. Term and termination

These Terms apply from your first use of the Service until terminated. We may terminate or suspend your access immediately, without notice, if you materially breach these Terms or if we are required to do so by law. You may terminate at any time by cancelling your subscription and closing your account. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (IP, disclaimers, liability, indemnity, governing law) will survive.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced via the changelog and, where the change is materially adverse to existing paid subscribers, communicated by email with at least 30 days' notice. Continued use of the Service after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance.

15. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or in connection with them, subject to your non-waivable consumer rights in your country of residence.
